MEET YOUR BAKER

Hello, 

My name is Bridgette Barker. I am a wife, mother, and recently a grandmother who loves the Lord, reading, and all things baking. After years spent preparing home cooked treats for my family, I have decided to branch out and share some of our favorite recipes with the rest of the world. 

When my son was younger, he struggled with many different food allergies. This began a years-long journey of finding recipes that worked well for him while still providing something nutritious and delicious for the rest of my family. Going gluten-free was one of the large shifts we made, and creating a gluten-free kitchen became my new pastime. 

Gradually, I found recipes that worked for us. However, one thing continued to stump me: the lack of delicious baked goods & treats that could be made gluten-free. It seemed as if no one had been able to come up with a combination that left the treats tasting as delicious as their gluten-filled counterparts. I was frequently disappointed in the various cookies, breads, and other treats that crumbled in your hand, or were so mushy you needed a spoon to enjoy it. So, I set out on a mission to solve this issue. After years of trial and error, I found several delicious items that have delighted our family and friends for years. 

Bakery 201 was an idea born out of this desire to provide high-quality, gluten-free options to those that need it most. It has long been a dream of mine to find a way to share my love of baking with others, and I am so excited to finally see this becoming a reality. I hope your experience with my shop gives your family the opportunity to create sweet memories around the table with our delicious treats. Hopefully we are able to remove the common disappointment associated with choosing allergy-friendly vs tastefully delicious.
